Safari Escape Itinerary

Day One

Arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport where you will be collected and transferred to Ngare Sero Mountain Lodge. Group welcome and a late afternoon yoga session followed by dinner.

Day Two

After breakfast, we will drive a short distance to Arusha National Park for an easy walking safari through the open plains and lower slopes of Mt. Meru to some waterfalls. There will be a good chance of spotting black and white Colobus monkeys! Lunch and an afternoon game drive before heading back to Ngare Sero Mountain Lodge for a late afternoon activity and dinner.

Day Three

After breakfast, we will be departing to Tarangire National Park for a game drive in the ‘Elephant Playground’. We will spend the day in this beautiful park, stopping at a scenic picnic spot for lunch. Then onto our second accommodation – Tarangire Safari Lodge.

Day Four

After breakfast we will embark on a short game drive in Tarangire then head to Isoitok camp, our next accommodation. Join local guide Maasai for a hot lunch as he teaches you about the natural medicines still used on a daily basis and a walk of the surrounding area. We will walk over to a local viewpoint to witness the sunset over Lake Manyara with a cool drink and snacks.

Day Five

We will meet our local Maasai guide early for an introduction to the Maasai way of life, beliefs and rituals. After breakfast, we’ll be heading to Lake Manyara National Park for game drives. If you’re lucky, you may spot the famous tree-climbing lions! A picnic lunch will be followed by afternoon game drives and then back to Isoitok camp. Enjoy an evening display of Maasai cultual singing and dancing around the camp fire.

Day Six

After breakfast, we’ll head to the endless plains of the Serengeti via the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Our drivers will take us to the best places around the many different areas of the park. We’ll be staying at Kisura Camp.

Day Seven

This will be another full day of game drives in the Serengeti. We’ll head to the Rock Kopjes where we should have a good chance of seeing some of the cat families – both cheetahs and lions use these giant rock outcrops as observation posts.

Day Eight

We’ll leave Kisura camp and the Serengeti after breakfast and head back towards the Ngorongoro Crater through the Ngorongoro National Park. We’ll do a walk of the crater rim with a ranger before heading to our accommodation at Endoro Lodge.

Day Nine

We’ll head back into the crater for a game drive. There are 25,000 large mammals residing in the park with many elephant bulls. Black rhino also make their home on the grassy plains, making up half of the total number still found in East Africa.

Day Ten

After breakfast and a morning yoga session, we’ll head back to Arusha town. Airport transfer will then take you to Kilimanjaro airport for your departure flight.
